Archvia is an 8a small business built environment design consultation and project and construction management firm based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Our mission is to provide added value, focus and organization to the development process of built environments. As strategic advisors, we manage projects for a range of clients including the federal government, land developers and institutional facilities. Our team of architects, engineers, designers and project managers has decades of experience and have expertly managed over 10 million square feet. We provide innovative and cost effective solutions to complex problems for our clients’ built environment needs.

Through our design consultation services and project and construction management services, we assist clients in determining the facility implications of improved business processes, alternative practices, program rollouts, funded mandates and operational improvements. Our design consultations services include architectural and engineering, design services, furniture concepts and procurement, space planning and all of the services required to ensure that the aesthetic features achieve our clients’ vision. Our project and construction management services include management of design and construction phase, on-site contractor support, lease solicitation for offer preparation and all of the services required to ensure that the project is completed on budget and on time, meets code and provides a built environment conducive to our clients’ needs.

Experience

Archvia is led by its founder, architect and urban planner, Dexter Gaines. Mr. Gaines has 20+ years of professional experience in the design and construction of various building types. He has managed 10+ million square feet and annually oversees hundreds of thousands of square feet of leased space alterations. He has held a variety of roles and responsibilities in design and architecture and construction management for clients from the federal government to small businesses. In additional to his project management training and his specialized design training at Harvard University, he holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree, cum laude, from Howard University. In building Archvia, Mr. Gaines has recruited and trained a team.
